Life 2.0
Remember the old adage “children should be seen and not heard” ?? Well that world has come to an end, folks.
Life now is all about hearing. And talking. And typing. Texting. IM’ing. Twittering. Facebooking. Connecting 24/7/365 to the world as a whole and finding out you’re not the only one sitting in the dark in your pajamas eating slightly-burnt popcorn watching the world go by on your computer screen.
My life, as it stands, is a wildly eclectic mix of working, teaching, writing, and living. But I wouldn’t give it up for the anything. I have no idea what is going to happen from one day to the next and while many people would run screaming for the hills at the lack of planning, I throw my arms out and say “BRING IT ON”! I believe I would most likely shrivel up into a tiny pile of multi-coloured plastic bread ties if I had to work 9-5 every day at the same job until I turned 65 and the world deemed me “worthy” of receiving my pension. Do I worry about what the future will bring? Hell ya. Do I let it keep me awake at night? Nope.
My advice to the weary world? Toss your family, friends, schedule, life, sports, recreation, work, writing, planning, cooking, eating, sleeping, walking, driving, texting, typing, reading, laughing and living into the blender that is Life 2.0 and give it a spin on puree.
I guarantee you won’t be bored with what comes out.
