Summer Blues
My muse is music. Lately, it’s been a little too quiet. Maybe it’s the summer, or maybe it’s the hectic spin my life is taking right now, but the muse seems to be on mute.
When I’m in the zone, the chapters flow. I can pound out pages and pages in one sit-down session with the laptop. But all I seem to be able to spit out these days is a couple of paragraphs at a time. I wrote the first 200 pages of my current #WIP (True Deceit), back to back with no stopping. Now I’m stuck with trying to find both the time and the motivation to kick it back into gear. I feel horribly distracted of late, and I’m also worried that if I start writing in this uncharged state, I won’t find the magic the story is capable of.
Is it the strange summer we’re having? The odd weather? Violent storms followed by brief bouts of sun? Am I going through the February blah’s in the middle of August?
I have two weeks of ‘refresher’ time at the cottage scheduled. There’s no internet available, so distractions should be at a minimum. My hope is that a few days of sun and lake will recharge the batteries.
Cross your fingers for me!
Hugs!

I’m not a writer, but I can imagine the frustation and maybe dread it might bring.
I hope the two weeks sun,
sexerm… fun and relaxation will make your ink flow again
